This beautifully proportioned Bradford Pear bowl displays very prominent flame figuring and symmetrical growth rings on the rim.  It features a indigo interior which was colored with a General Finishes dye stain.  Bradford Pear wood is very dense and smooth.  The wood was sourced in Germantown, TN from a landscaping project.  The bowl is finished in multiple coats of Tung Oil Finish and polished with carnauba wax.  This piece is narrow at the rim and thicker on the lower sides and base which gives it a heft that belies its delicate appearance.  It just invites guests to pick it up and explore its contours and peer inside through the narrow opening.
