This artistic piece was crafted from a Western Tennessee Willow Oak.  The wide rim and thick walls give it a satisfying heft.  The artist removed the bark, blackened the rim with a torch, used a wire brush to remove the burnt surface, and sealed in the charcoal color with urethane.  The beautiful grain of the inner bowl and the lower surfaces is protected with Tung Oil Finish and a Carnauba wax polish.  Display this bowl in your home and your guests will want to know all about it.
